Corton is a small village, 3 miles to the north of Lowestoft on the Suffolk/Norfolk border. In 2017, Waveney District Council revised the parish boundaries so that the area just south of Corton Long Lane, including Old Lane and Corton Woods, were added to Corton parish and renamed the 'Gunton and Corton' ward
