there are no paths here, round the bend you can see St Bartholomew's
Church and Church Farm in the distance
There is a long stretch of road with a sharp bend just before you
come to St Bartholomew's Church. Please take care! During the summer
months the church is often open for strawberries, tea and if you're
lucky, delicious cakes. These are all fundraising events held to
raise money for the upkeep of the church.
Past the church is Stirrups Lane where you can see the new
technology of Anglian Water's
Waste Water Treatment Centre -
Technology at its best.
Turning left just past the old railway bridge you can walk alongside
the waste water treatment centre into Box Iron Wood
Walk through the lovely wood setting and you come out at the back of
Manor Park Road/Wheatacre Drive where the old railway line used to be
Walk up past Gladstone Road until you come to Station
Road where immediately opposite is a children's play area known locally
as The Pit. At the present time there is a group known as The Pitfits who are trying to raise money to improve this area for the
children
Now you are back on Station Road, head south (to your right!) and
you will see the Old Post Office which closed its doors in 2003
On the right hand side, just past the little bungalow on the corner
of Wheatacre Drive, you can see the road that leads down to the old
railway station.
Carry on walking down Station Road and turn left, leading you onto
Corton Long Lane. Continue walking to the end of this road and you
are back to the start of the tour
